Vessel Safety System

Your installation may be fitted with one of two safety systems, Type A or Type B. Both are designed to guarantee the safe supply of LPG to your premises.

Over Pressure Shut Off Valve (OPSO)
This will isolate the supply and protect against excess pressure affecting the appliances. Should this device operate it should NOT be reset without the advice of a competent person as there may be a potential serious fault.

Under Pressure Shut Off Valve (UPSO)
This device will isolate the gas supply should there be a reduction in pressure and may be reset by you. For example if the tank has been allowed to empty or if the gas supply has been turned off at the main stop valve

In case of Leakage
Should a gas leak occur, it is likely that it will be first noticed by the smell
    Do not Panic
Isolate LPG supply from the LPG yard
    Stop all LPG Operations
Turn off the supply at emergency and main stop valves
Extinguish all naked lights and sources of ignition - NO SMOKING
Open doors and windows. Beware that LPG is heavier than air and will collect at the lowest levels
