Safety Tips
For LPG installation and appliancesAlways use BIS/ Industry approved appliancesObtain BIS/ Industry approved pig-tails and regulators / adaptors from Authorised Indane Distributors/ suppliers or Indane service providers Never use screw-type adaptors Safe Operation of LPG InstallationThere should be NO SMOKING and NO Ignition Sources near the LPG Cylinder Bank StorageDo Not Allow rubbish or flammable materials to accumulate around the LPG Cylinder Bank Storage Keep foliage from growing around or over the LPG Cylinder Bank Storage Do not paint the LPG cyliders or obscure any signs or labels attached to it. Keep access to the LPG Cylinder Bank Storage free at all times Arrange for regular servicing of all your LPG appliances including pipelines Any Faults or Damage to the LPG Cylinders should be reported to IOCL Instantly If the premises of LPG Cylinder Bank Storage are to be Left Unattended for a long period, Turn off the gas supply at the Emergency Stop Valve While receiving cylindersOnly authorised personnel should enter into the Indane LPG installationCheck for the cylinder has been delivered with the appropriate company safety cap and seal intact Check for any visible signs of leakage - through Visual Inspection, Water, Soap Solution or Smell Do Not Put Soap solution In the Valve. Put Some water instead Check to see that rubber ‘O’ ring inside the cylinder valve is present If you are not sure about usage, please ask the delivery person for a demonstration Don’t move or shift the cylinders by dragging, rolling on body or dropping from height. Always try using ramp installed in truck for cylinder loading and unloading Before UsageCheck to see that rubber ‘O’ ring inside the cylinder valve is presentCheck for any visible signs of leakage - through Visual Inspection, Water, Soap Solution or Smell Do Not Put Soap solution In the Valve. Put Some water instead Always keep the cylinder in upright position at ground level at a well ventilated place The cylinder must be kept away from other any sources of heat During UsageNever heat the cylinders to get more flow of gasNever use the cylinders in horizontal position Use all cylinders in LPG Cylinder banks at the time of use Loose isolated Cylinders should not be used for Industrial Usage Proper approved Hose should be used After UsageClose all regulators knobs or the mains valve to ‘OFF’ position when LPG is not in useThe empty cylinders must remain in the designated Cylinder Bank or be stored in well ventilated place with safety cap put ON MaintenanceGet your gas appliances periodically serviced from Authorised Indane Distributors onlyGet your LPG manifold periodically serviced from Authorised Indane Distributors only Before carrying out any maintenance work, a work permit shall be obtained from Authorised Indane Distributors All maintenance operations inside the LPG yard must be carried out by authorised Trained service personnel only No hot work like welding, cutting, heating should be carried out inside the LPG installation (Safety Zone/ fenced area) All maintenance work for burners or combustion system should be carried out through authorised service personnel of your Indane Distributor In case of LeakageDo not PanicDo not Switch On or Switch Off any electrical appliances in the room Isolate main electrical supply from the outside only Extinguish all flames, open lamps etc Close all the appliances and LPG regulator Put On the Safety Cap on the cylinder Open all Doors & Windows for ventilation Never use fan for ventilation Call your Indane Gas Distributor / Emergency Service Cell during their Working hours or IOCL Officials in case first Two options Fail for Help In case of FireEvacuate the buildingCall the fire brigade Turn off the gas supply at the emergency stop valve if it is safe to do so Advise the Fire Officer of the existence of an LPG Cylinder Bank Contact IOCL |
